Indian Navy B Tech Entry Scheme April 2013

Indian Navy, invited applications from Unmarried Male candidates (fulfilling the conditions of nationality as laid down by the Govt of India) to join the prestigious Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala (2013 December) under 10+2 Cadet (B Tech) Entry Scheme 

 

Qualification: Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent from University/ Board with at least 70 % aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).

Age : 17 to 19½ years (i.e. born between 02-July 1994 & 01 January 1997 (both dates inclusive).

Physical Standards : (a) Height and Weight: Minimum height - 157 cms with correlated weight as per age. (b) Eye Sight : The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses. Should not be colour/ night blind.

Selection Procedure : Candidates will be issued call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews  based on their PCM marks in 10+2/equivalent Examination.  Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to short-list applications and to fix cut off percentage. SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Coimbatore during August to November

Training :  Selected Candidates will be inducted as Cadets for four year B Tech course in Electronics & Communication or Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala Kerala. During the course, Cadets will be allotted Executive, Engineering including Naval Architect specialisation and Electrical Branch. On completion of the course, B Tech Degree will be awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)

Indian Navy invites applications from unmarried male candidates for enrolment as Sailors for Senior Secondary recruits (SSR)-01/2012 batch

Educational Qualifications. Passed 10+2/ equivalent examination with Maths & Physics as main and atleast one of these subjects optional; Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer science

Age: Candidates should have been born between 01 Feb 1992 to 31 Jan 1996 (Both dates inclusive).

Pay & Allowances: Rs.5200-20200. In addition they will be paid Grade Pay @Rs.2000 plus MSP @Rs.2000 plus DA.

Selection Methodology: Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit depending on their performance in Written Test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in the Medical Examinations. The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT): PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.

Medical Standards: Minimum height: 157 cms, Weight and Chest should be proportionate. Minimum Chest expansion of 5 cms. Goodmental, medical and physical health free from any disease/ disability, likely to interfere with efficient performance of duties. Colour perception: CP II.

On completion of these tenures, officers are entitled for gratuity under the extant rules. The Officers will be on probation for a period of two years and till completion of their initial training (whichever is later), during which they are liable to be discharged if their performance is unsatisfactory. Pilot Entry. Pilot candidates will be inducted as Cadets and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. This will be followed by Stage I and Stage-II flying training at the Air Force Academy/Naval establishments. On successful completion of Stage II training the Cadets will be awarded wings and commissioned as Sub-Lieutenants. Observer Entry. Observer candidates will be inducted as an officer in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishments/Units/ Ships. Full pay and allowances are admissible to officers whilst under training.
