Selection Procedure : (a) Short-listing for interview: BDS candidates found eligible will be short-listed based on their Final BDS marks and attempts taken in Final BDS. Short-listed candidates will be called for interview. All MDS candidates found eligible & in possession of MDS degree will be called for interview. There will be no short-listing in their case. (b) Medical Examination: Candidates provisionally placed on merit list after interview by Selection Board will be brought before a Medical Board for ascertaining their Medical Fitness.

Pay Scale : Rs 15600-39100. 

Tenure : The SSC tenure is of 5 years extendable by another 9 years in two spells; first of 5 years and second of 4 years (total SSC tenure 14 years) for those who are willing to continue subject to laid down eligibility criteria. However, on completion of 2 years service as SSC officer, they are eligible to apply for limited number of vacancies available for Departmental Permanent Commission (DPC) provided they had not attained the age of 28 years for BDS candidates and 30 years for MDS candidates on 31 Dec of the year of application for DPC.

Training, Emoluments And Placements : Selected candidates will initially undergo training for six months. During the training period, Officer Trainees will be entitled for a consolidated Stipend Rs.33000/- per month. Upon successful completion of training, they will be absorbed at the entry level in the Management Cadre in “A” grade in the Salary Scale of Rs. 24900 - 50500/-Subject to fulfilling the required performance related/ other criterion, and will be on Probation for a further period of minimum 6 months

Note : Candidates scoring minimum 60% in aggregate of all the semesters/ years, for Unreserved and OBC-NC candidates (50% for SC, ST & PWD candidates), in the qualifying post graduate degree (as applicable) are only eligible to apply. Candidates completing their qualifying post graduate degree (as applicable) latest by September 2013,can also apply but provided the candidates have secured minimum 60% marks (min 50% for SC/ST & PWD) upto last semester/ result declared. In such cases candidates are required to specify the aggregate % marks upto last completed semester in the field provided for % marks against the qualifying degree field in the online application form. However final selection of such candidates will be subject to their obtaining minimum 60% marks (For SC, ST & PWD minimum 50%) in aggregate of all semesters till the final semester, in qualifying graduate / post graduate degree (as applicable)

Selection Methodology : Candidates fulfilling all of the above eligibility criteria for respective positions will be called for appearing in Written Test (objective type with no negative marking, comprising of two parts, I. General Aptitude consisting of Intellectual Potential test, testing Logical Reasoning & Data interpretation, Quantitative Aptitude test & test of English Language, II. Technical / Professional Knowledge comprising of questions related to Qualifying degree / Educational background required for the position applied for). Candidates qualifying in the Written Test will be called for the Personal Interview, in order of the category-wise and discipline-wise merit list of the Written Test in a predetermined ratio. All candidates who qualify in the Personal Interview and also obtain minimum qualifying marks in the combined scores of written test & personal interview will be required to undergo pre-employment medical examination as per the corporation’s policy. Reference for a medical examination does not mean final selection, which may please be noted. Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks separately in both Written Test and Personal Interview and also minimum qualifying marks w.r.t.combined scores of Written Test + Personal Interviews to be further considered for selection process. Educational Qualification: (i) For Engineers. Candidates studying in the Final Year of Engineering Degree and who are qualified graduates of the Degree Course in Engineering will be eligible to apply. The qualified graduates of the Degree Course must possess Engineering Degree at the time of joining training. The candidates studying in the final year of Degree Course, if not already in possession of the Degree Certificate should be able to produce the Engineering Degree within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at IMA. Such candidates will be inducted for training at IMA on Additional Bond Basis for recovery of the cost of training as notified from time to time as well as stipend and pay & allowances paid, in case they fail to produce the requisite degree certificate. Important Note : Candidates must note that the minimum educational qualification for induction into TGC - 118 course is BE/B.Tech degree in the engineering stream notified in Para (1) above. Therefore, to become eligible for induction into TGC - 118 course, candidates studying in final year of engineering must complete all the formlities including viva voce etc for award of qualifying BE/B.Tech degree before commencement of course, failing which their candidature is liable to be cancelled. (ii) For Army Education Corps. MA/M.Sc Degree in 1st or 2nd division from a university recognized by AIU in English/Economics/history/Geography/Pol Science/Psycology/ Physics/Chemistry/Maths/Compurter Science/Chinese/Tibetan/Burmese/Pushto/Dari/ Arabic. Final year appearing candidates are not eligible for Army Education Corps (AEC).

Stipend : Rs. 21,000

Age Limit: (i) For Engineering Graduates -20 to 27 yrs (Born between 02 Jan 87 and 01 Jan 94). (ii) For AEC - 23 to 27 yrs (Born between 02 Jan 87 and 01 Jan 91).

Physical Standards: (i) Height & Weight: The minimum acceptable height and weight for men is 157.5 cms with correlated weight. In case of candidates belonging to the North East and hilly areas like Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese and Garhwalis, the height will be relaxed by 5 cms and weight commensurate with reduced height. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2cms. (ii) Visual Standards: The minimum acceptable visual acuity are: Distant vision (corrected) better eye 6/6, worse 6/18, Myopia of not more than minus 3.5 including Astigmation. Candidates who have undergone or have evidence for having undergone Radial Karatotomy to improve the visual acuity will be permanently rejected. Candidates who have undergone Lasik Surgery for Correction of reflective error are
NOT acceptable


Method of Selection :(a) Shortlisting of Applications and SSB Interviews: Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to shorlist applications and to fix cutoff percentage of marks without assigning any reason. Initial checking of applications will be done at Directorate General Recruiting, Army HQs. Only shorlisted eligible candidates depending on aggregate percentage of marks scored will be called for and assessed under aegis of Selection Centres, namely Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP) and Bangalore (Karnataka) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer. Candidates will not be interviewed locally. Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of Army Headquarters and no requests of changes are entertained in this regard.
