Qualification : (i) Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed)at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University. (ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted the UGC CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. Provided however that candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standard and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor. (iii) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmers in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conduct. Relaxation of the 5% marks from 55% to 50% of the marks shall be applicable to SC/ST/ Differently abled (Physically and Visually differently abled) category candidate as per UGC rules. 5% relaxation from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991. The minimum qualifications prescribed for the posts of Music is as under :- Assistant Professor :- (i) Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject or an equivalent degree from an Indian/ foreign University. (ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for lecturers conducted by the UGC CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC . Provided however that candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standard and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor. (iii) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmers in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conduct. OR (i) A traditional and a professional artist with highly commendable professional achievement in the concerned subject who should have : a. Studeied under noted/reputed traditional masters and has through knowledge to explain the subject concerned b. A high grade artist of AIR/TV c. Ability to explain the logical reasoning of the subject concerned and adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations in that discipline. Assistant Professor Qualification :- First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture OR 1) Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture; and 2) First Class Master’s Degree in Architecture. Note: Only candidates registered with the Council of Architecture (COA) under the provisions of the Architecture Act, 1972 shall be eligible for above posts.

How to apply
 
Five copies of the application in the prescribed form together with attested copies of certificates along with a crossed Demand Draft on a Nationalized bank for the amount of Rs. 500/- in the case of candidate belonging to Open category and Rs. 300/- in the case of candidates belonging to Reserve Categories drawn in favour of Finance and Accounts Officer, University of Mumbai should be sent in an envelop super scribed with names of the posts applied by the candidates so as to reach the Registrar, University of Mumbai, Teaching Appointments Unit, Room No. 113, First Floor, Fort, Mumbai 400 032, on or before 1st June,2012. Andaman and Nicobar Island s and Lakshadweep may send their applications so as to reach the Registrar on or before 16th June, 2012. Candidates who are already employed shall send their applications through the proper channel. Application received after last date will not be considered. The University shall not responsible for any postal delay. Incomplete application and application on plain paper will not be considered. Convincing direct or indirect will be disqualification. The prescribed forms of applications and details regarding additional qualifications and specialization etc. can be had free of charge from the Teaching Appointments Unit, Room No. 113, First Floor, Fort, Mumbai 400 032 either in person or by sending a requisition with self addressed envelope (31cm x 23 cm) bearing postage stamp to the value of Rs. 30/- to the University.
