Physical Standard : For all posts : Minimum
Height - 155 cm. (for males) and 143 cm. (for females), Minimum
Weight- 45 Kg. (for males) and 35 Kg. (for females), Minimum Chest- 75
cm & 79 cm on expansion (for males) and 70 cm & 73 cm on
expansion (for females), Distant Vision- 6/9 both eyes with or without
glasses., Near Vision- J1 or N6 both eyes. Power of glass should not
exceed + 2.50 D.,
Colour vision should be normal., Binocular vision – Essential Operated
and corrected squint will be acceptable., Hearing – Normal (Relaxable
up to 30 dB in speech frequency)
Salary : 1st year : Rs. 8250/-, 2nd year : Rs. 9350/-
Selection Procedure : Eligible candidates are required to appear for an objective type written test followed by Interview.

Application
must be accompanied by the prescribed application fee and processing
fee through challan. State bank of India (SBI) has been authorized to
collect the application / processing fee in a specially opened Power
Jyoti Current A/c No. 32336462661 at SBI, Durgapur Main Branch (Branch
Code-0074), Durgapur, in favour of “STEEL AUTHORITY OF INDIA-DSP”.
Candidate may also note that a certain amount will be paid by him/her
as Bank Charges to the collection branch of SBI in addition to the
applicable application/ processing fee. The SBI branches will accept fee
from 11-06-2012 to 11-07-2012 during working hours. Fee shall not be
collected by any other mode. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under
any circumstances.
